Anti-slavery and human trafficking policy
Last updated 13 September 2026. Grad Recruit Ltd, England and Wales.
Public policy on modern slavery and human trafficking. Turnover is below the statutory threshold; we still say how we operate.
Anti-slavery and human trafficking policy
This is the public policy of Grad Recruit Ltd (Grad Recruit Ltd), registered in England and Wales. Registered office: London, United Kingdom. Contact: Contact us or hello@gradrecruit.co.uk.
Last reviewed 13 September 2026. A director will review it at least once a year, or sooner if we hire staff, add offshore operations, or pass the statutory turnover threshold.
Why we publish this
Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires a slavery and human trafficking statement from commercial organisations that carry on business in the UK and have a global turnover of £36 million or more. Grad Recruit Ltd is below that threshold and is not required to publish a board-approved s.54 statement.
We still publish this policy because:
- universities and other buyers ask for it in supplier questionnaires
- students and staff should know we will not tolerate slavery, servitude, forced labour or human trafficking in our business or our supply chain
- being small is not a reason to be silent
This is a policy, not a claim that we have audited every supplier factory. We do not have factories.
What we will not do
- Use slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, or human trafficking.
- Withhold identity documents, wages or housing as a means of control.
- Use child labour.
- Knowingly buy services from a supplier we believe is exploiting people.
- Charge workers (if we hire) recruitment fees.
How we operate
Grad Recruit is a UK web workspace, not a job board. Work is done by the operator in the United Kingdom. We do not run warehouses, construction, agriculture, garments or hospitality. We do not use agency labour in high-risk sectors. Pay (when we have staff) is in the UK, at or above National Minimum Wage / National Living Wage as it applies.
Campus visits, if we make them, are by the operator or contracted UK associates we have met.
Supply chain
Our material suppliers are:
| Supplier | What they do |
|---|---|
| Neon | Database hosting (UK/EEA) |
| Vercel | Application hosting |
| Stripe | Card payments |
| xAI | Ask Coach, only when a Pro user sends a prompt |
| Mail / 123-reg | Domain and email |
We expect those suppliers to comply with UK law and with their own published modern-slavery statements where they are in scope of s.54. We would stop using a supplier we reasonably believed to be exploiting people. We do not audit their data centres ourselves.
We do not source hardware, garments or print at volume. Careers-fair flyers are ordered on demand from UK printers.
Staff and recruitment
If we hire:
- We will check the right to work in the UK.
- We will not use unpaid “trial” labour beyond a genuine short interview task.
- We will not keep original passports.
- We will pay through UK payroll.
There is currently no large workforce. This section will be expanded if that changes.
Reporting
Anyone who is concerned that Grad Recruit, a contractor or a supplier is involved in slavery or trafficking should write to hello@gradrecruit.co.uk or use Contact us. We will take the report seriously, keep it as confidential as the law allows, and not penalise a reporter acting in good faith.
Students using the product to apply for jobs: an employer’s scheme is their process. If you think an employer is exploiting people, report it to the police, the GLAA or modernslavery.gov.uk as well as telling us so we can review whether to keep their listing.
Governance
This policy is owned by the operator / director of Grad Recruit Ltd. It is not a substitute for a s.54 statement. If turnover reaches the statutory threshold we will publish a compliant statement for that financial year.
